Greetings Lions, Lioness, and Leos: It is that time of the year when
we are in the process of changing the “guard”. Yes,
the 2007 – 2008
Lions year is coming to an end. And what a year it has been. I
certainly have an appreciation for the size of our district and the
great clubs within. One of these days I might even add up the miles I
drove visiting all the clubs, attending cabinet meetings and most of
all the enjoyable visits during the many club functions. We are an
active district and our membership works hard at fund raising for the
many causes we support. I cannot begin to list all the
old friends who supported my efforts nor the new friends whose advice I
appreciated during my term. Their enthusiasm and encouragement made it
possible to perform my duties as your governor. One of my last official
duties took me to the Multiple District Convention in Sault Ste. Marie.
I suspect that I will attend many more such events as one of the many
PDGs who were assembled to conduct the state’s business. I
could not end my term nor this newsletter without a couple of appeals.
Your club can still help attain 100% participation of this this
year’s
governor’s goals – there always seems to arise
another need to be met.
Retention is of the utmost importance if we are to continue to flourish
as clubs and a district. Our recruiting efforts are especially vital to
the rejuvenation of our great organization. Yours

Comments
Well, here are my last comments as Vice District Governor. On the June 15th. Nancy and I will be leaving for our 29 Hours of flying time to go to Bangkok. That is one long flight. We will be there until July 1st and then it is another long flight back home, but only 27 Hours to get home, we must have a tail wind on the way home. The State convention went very wel. It was a busy time, but fun was had by all. There
will be a Club Officers
training class held at the
Pearl Beach Lions Hall on June 1st. at 1:00 pm
and also one at the
Memphis Lions Hall on June 11th. Contact Lions
Dave Hacker or Anita
Kolasinski for more information. These training sessions are open to
ALL Lions
but are a must for the Presidents & Secretaries of each club
especially
newly elected ones.>br> Thank you to all of the Clubs that have sent in their PU101’s. As of May 21st I am only missing 6 PU101.
Yours in Lionism Vice District Gov. CHB Chuck
