Greetings Lions, Lioness, and Leos: I
would like to take
this opportunity to set everyone’s mind at ease regarding the
District
Convention. No, we did not change the date of the convention. It is
still
scheduled for April 4-6, 2008 at the There will be a Mini-Cabinet meeting (casual attire) at the district convention in Okemos on Friday, April 4th, 2008 from 5:00PM to 6:00PM. Look for signs directing you to the conference room I congratulate the recording
secretaries and treasurers of our district
who are doing a super job completing the monthly membership and
activities
reports. Congratulations also go out to the treasurers who are paying
their
International and District dues on time. “On time means
within thirty (30) days
after receiving the invoice.” To the four or five clubs who
feel they do not
have to follow this practice, I would urge the club presidents to take
immediate action to get in compliance. Remember, both International and
the
District bill twice annually. I can only advise you that changes along
with
penalties at the district level are being discussed at the cabinet. All
Secretaries:
Finally, don’t forget: If you are interested in serving
on any District
Committee, don’t wait too long – let the Vice
District Governor know. Yours

Our
District
Convention is FAST approaching and once again this year we are asking
each club
to please donate one or two prizes that can be used for door prizes OR
a large
item that could be used for the LIVE Auction. Your participation and
the money
that is raised from this raffle is what help keep the cost of attending
the
convention lower for you. Please consider purchasing your door prize
items from
Leader Dog, Welcome Home, Bear Lake, or Michigan Eye Bank as this also
helps
them. Please let me know what your club will be bringing as a gift so I
can
make a list. I
am working on the Organization Roster Book for 2008-2009. If you are
interested in serving on any of the committees please let me know.
Attached is a list of the District Committees. Please fill one out and
return it to me as soon as possible. If you are now serving on a
committee, and would like to continue on that committee, please let me
know that also.
